Lunan Design

Lunan Design was established by Orcadian couple Duncan and Amanda Manson in 2003. This was the realisation of a long held ambition to start making their own quality hand crafted jewellery. Initially based in Angus on the East Coast of Scotland the business was relocated back home to the Orkney Islands in 2007. After 15 long years away from the Islands, it was time to come home!

Amanda is a keen water colour artist and brings an original design talent and fresh perspective to the jewellery design process at Lunan Design.

Duncan spent over sixteen years making jewellery in the Orkney craft industry before leaving the Islands to attend University. After graduating he spent seven years working as a Chemist in the manufacture of medicines.

All of Lunan Design's pieces are stamped with our makers mark which is ADM. This is an amalgam of the names of the owners of Lunan Design, Amanda and Duncan Manson. All of our pieces that by Law are required to be hallmarked, are tested for finesse and marked at the Assay office in Edinburgh here in Scotland.

We are very fortunate to live and work in one of the most beautiful areas in Scotland. It is from these tranquil yet dramatic surroundings that we draw inspiration for our jewellery.
